Therapeutics

Interleukin Genetics is in a transition from being predominantly a genetic research organization to one wherein therapeutics will be developed in a manner that, where appropriate, will leverage the advantage of using genetic information. The genetic tests will be incorporated in the drug development efforts to enable the identification and inclusion of patients at high risk for certain inflammatory disorders. This approach is expected to facilitate cost- and time- effective clinical development efforts of therapeutics (chemical entities, biologics, botanical mixtures).

Interleukin does not intend to discover and synthesize its therapeutics, but will obtain these through in licensing, partnerships, strategic alliances and research and development collaborations. Several discussions with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies are underway to obtain chemical entities and biologics to be developed as therapeutics.
